Mendoza: Wine Country
Situated to the east of the Andes, Mendoza is frequented by adventure travelers and wine lovers alike. Founded in 1561, and famed for its proximity to Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in both the Western and Southern hemispheres, Mendoza also accounts for two thirds of Argentina’s wine production, which includes an internationally acclaimed Malbec wine.
DAY ONE
Your flight from Buenos Aires to Mendoza this morning will take just under two hours. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide, heading out directly to begin your introduction to local wines.
Visit two internationally renowned wineries, where you will be introduced to the family winemaking traditions. You will enjoy a leisurely lunch accompanied by what many consider to be the best Malbec in the world.
Enchantingly beautiful, in the shadow of the Andes, and surrounded by vineyards bordered with old olive trees, your stop for lunch is within the Luján de Cuyo region, at the foot of the magnificent Cordon del Plata. Your four-course meal will be served on the shaded veranda is mere footsteps from a seemingly endless vineyard.
Later, you will be transferred to your hotel, a charming posada in the small, scenic town of Chacras de Coria, some 20 minutes from the city center of Mendoza.
