San Martín de los Andes
To the southwest of the Neuquén province, just miles from the Chilean border, San Martín de los Andes is situated at the foot of the Andes beside Lacár Lake. Founded in 1898, San Martín is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and clear lakes, offering one of the most spectacular landscapes in Patagonia. While the area has grown considerably in the past 15 years, the town has maintained its warmth and charm with its strict regulations on building heights and architectural styles.
DAY ONE
From Buenos Aires, take a two-hour flight to San Martín de los Andes, arriving at Chapelco Airport. (Flight only available on Sundays.)
Upon your arrival, you will be transferred two to three hours across the wild Patagonian steppe and by boat across the clear Huechulafquen Lake, a trip dramatized by a backdrop of the majestic Lanín volcano. Arrive at your accommodation, a thermal spa and eco resort.
You’ll have the remainder of day to relax and enjoy the spa facilities. Located in the heart of Lanín National Park, surrounded by clear lakes, lush forest, waterfalls, and natural hot springs, your accommodation offers cozy rooms with mountain views, Patagonian and oriental fusion cuisine, and an array of outdoor activities.
Tonight’s dinner will be enjoyed at leisure at the lodge.

This afternoon, a range of activities are available to you which include horseback riding, fly fishing on the Quilquihue (with optional fly-casting lessons), and trekking.
Dinner tonight is enjoyed at your leisure. While the restaurant at the lodge serves up fabulous, unpretentious Argentine country cooking, we will provide you with a list of restaurant recommendations in town that offer good regional cuisine and a great local ambience.
