DAY ONE

Welcome to Belize! Upon arrival into Belize City International Airport, you will be met by the staff of your resort and will be assisted with your luggage after exiting customs and immigration. Your Ka’ana representative will escort you to your waiting car for the 90-minute drive to Ka’ana Resort where you will receive a VIP welcome with champagne toast.

Your resort was created as a tribute to the rich heritage and natural wonders of Belize and to showcase the unique immersion experience the country has to offer. The hotel provides guests with personalized services and modern design that simultaneously pays respect to the country’s culturally rich past. Located just steps from the ancient Maya Civilization and surrounded by pristine jungles, your tour excursions are completely customized to ensure that you receive a unique, yet authentic Belize experience.

DAY TWO

Maya food is steeped in a thousand-year-old history and tradition. Maya cooks still use ancient methods to prepare flavorful meals for their families.

Participants have the opportunity to meet and learn from a traditional Maya cook; prepare special traditional dishes like tamales, corn tortillas and caldo using the fugon, a traditional maya stove. This popular class is held at our remake traditional kitchen on site. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and discuss techniques and flavor profiles of the Maya. Before your class starts, take a private tour of our on-site organic garden and learn about the produce grown there and how it is incorporated into the meals served at La Ceiba Restaurant.

Hone your cocktail skills with a lesson from one of our own master mixologists. Join for a tasty lesson in creating a unique blend of local cocktails and refreshing versions of classics.

DAY THREE

A 60-minute drive across the Guatemalan border takes Guests to Yaxha National Park where they can enjoy a private guided tour of this lesser visited, atmospheric site. Guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of the howler and spider monkeys as well as many colorful tropical birds and other mammals in this area, which is rich with wildlife. Sunset drinks, cold cuts, and cheeses are then enjoyed at the end of the tour on top of the main temple with views over the surrounding rainforest and nearby lake Yaxha. Guests then trek back through the jungle with torches as it starts to turn dark – perhaps spotting some nocturnal wildlife along the way – and return to the resort.

DAY FOUR

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight home or continue on with your Willing Foot adventure.
