THE ITINERARY

DAY ONE

Welcome to Belize! Upon arrival into Belize City International Airport, a representative will meet and escort you to a private car for the 90-minute road transfer to the Resort.

Nestled amidst the rich history of the Mayan Civilization and the country’s lush natural wonders, your jungle experience awaits.

Your hotel is a small luxury resort in Western Belize, where guests indulge in personalized service, luxurious appointments and modern amenities. An upscale outpost for exploring, you’ll find that every adventure is a curated experience that is authentically Belize, while uniquely and intimately Ka’ana.

A true intersection of style, culture and adventure, the staff is proud to bring a layer of bespoke luxury to the culturally rich heritage and pristine jungles that surround, so that your stay in Belize is truly unlike any other.

DAY TWO

The day’s focus is the Actun Tunichil Muknal (also called ATM) Cave in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. You’ll be departing Ka’ana at 7:00am.

Your adventure begins with a hike through the jungle, followed by a swim into the cave. Once inside, you crawl through tunnels and passageways of one of the most preserved and protected Mayan sites in the world. You do this in the company of an adventure specialist who is one of very few allowed to enter this cave.

The cave was once the exclusive terrain of Mayan priests, who came here to perform rituals, including sacrifices. Become immersed in the history and the ceremony of a significant period of Mayan civilization.

DAY THREE

This morning is at your leisure and can be used to schedule your massages. At 11:30 meet in the Maya kitchen for a personalized cooking class.

Maya food is steeped in thousand-year-old history and tradition. Maya cooks still use ancient methods to prepare flavorful meals for the families.

Participants have the opportunity to meet and learn from a traditional Maya cook; prepare special traditional dishes like tamales, corn tortillas and caldo using the fugon, a traditional maya stove. This popular class is held at our remake traditional kitchen on site. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and discuss techniques and flavor profiles of the Maya. Before your class starts, take a private tour of our on-site organic garden and learn about the produce grown there and how it is incorporated into the meals served at La Ceiba Restaurant.

DAY FOUR

After breakfast, check out of Ka’ana and either return to the International Airport for your return flight home or extend your trip to visit another part of the country.
