DAY ONE

After a short transfer to Albrook domestic airport in Panama City this morning, a 1-hour flight takes you to David, the capital of the Chiriqui Province. From the airport in David embark on an hour-long scenic drive followed by a brief boat ride. Enter the sea and the archipelago that make up the Parque Nacional Marino Golfo de Chiriquí, a 36,000-acre marine park encompassing two dozen islands, their surrounding open waters, and estuaries. The refuge is home to marine and land wildlife, including howler monkeys, leatherback and hawksbill turtles, and tiger-herons. 

Your seaside eco-boutique hotel is located on one of the larger islands at the edge of the park, Boca Brava. Approximately 10 miles long and four miles wide, its topography is as rich as its flora and fauna, with a grassy interior sloping to a coast comprised of idyllic and empty beaches, estuaries, and mangrove wetlands. After checking in you will have ample time to take a first dip in the warm ocean waters or enjoy the calm bay by kayak. 

Today you can relax on the island’s private beach, make use of the complementary kayaks or enjoy the fresh-water swimming pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You can also choose from optional tours including a nature walk or a horseback riding excursion through the island landscape which consists of 7,500 acres of rolling hills, pastures and many untouched beaches. 

The dining room serves the bounty harvested from the property's own organic gardens and nearby waters in a fusion of Mediterranean and Latin American tastes. Your stay includes daily full board.

DAY TWO

Awakening just yards from a white sand beach and the tranquil waters of the bay in your private bungalow, you will begin your day with breakfast accompanied by panoramic sea views. After breakfast you will meet your instructor for a private 1 hour yoga session on the ocean-front deck. 

Mid morning you will depart for a beach and snorkeling exploration tour, venturing to the islands of Bolaños and Gamez with dolphins likely to be swimming alongside the boat. Between the months of August and November you may even observe majestic humpback whales within close proximity to your boat. This is a full day of beach relaxation and underwater exploration with snorkel and fins. A picnic lunch will be served on one of the white sand beaches around Boca Brava Island. Return back to your hotel late this afternoon.

DAY THREE

After breakfast this morning enjoy a deluxe spa treatment that consists of anti-stress massages including Swedish, shiatsu, cranial, foot and hand reflexology, as well as a facial-massage with exfoliation and natural mask. 

The rest of the day is yours to relax on the private beach, beside the pool or venture out in the complementary kayaks. 

Additional optional activities include surfing or SCUBA diving for certified divers.  Guided surf sessions can be arranged for beginner or intermediate surfers. Surf the local beaches or book a private boat and visit some of Panama’s best breaks. For SCUBA divers, visibility in these clear tropical waters can be as much as 60-80 feet. Look for whales, dolphins, sharks, black marlin, sea turtles and volcanic formations.

DAY FOUR

After a leisurely morning at your coastal retreat make your way back to Panama City. The trip begins with a boat ride through rich mangrove estuaries, after which you will meet your driver and return along the scenic route to David for your one-hour flight to Panama City. Upon arrival in Panama City, you will be directly transferred to Tocumen International Airport for your departure flight (afternoon departure flights only) or continue with your next Willing Foot adventure.
