Following breakfast, participate in an informative presentation about Hmong and Lahu tribes and the Golden triangle area.  Special to this area of Thailand are the giant catfish (locally known as Pla Buck) – the world’s biggest fresh water fish found in the Mekong River.  You’ll be amazed at the size that these fish grow.  Learn about the people who live alongside the Mekong River and who depend on it for their livelihood.

You will then tour the Hmong and Lahu hill tribe villages, which includes a visit at the “Shaman’s” house of the Hmong.  Drink tea with the shaman and discover why the fireplace is so important in the house to the Hmongs and why they bury the placenta and umbilical cord of their newborn babies.

The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of life of local people by educating them on how to grow vegetables and the importance of the eco-system in their village.

You will have the evening at your leisure and enjoy dinner at the lodge.

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred by car to Chiang Rai airport for your onward flight to Bangkok.  Once in Bangkok you will be connected to your flight home or onto your next Willing Foot destination.
